2001 was a transition point in terms of my artistic style. As I moved away from the familiarity of TLK-styled drawings, I began experimenting with drawing feline faces differently. One notable quality of my early 2001 drawings was that the shape of the muzzle was fairly round, the lower lip was pronounced (a trait that would carry over to art from 2002), and I started drawing long hair on the chin of some male characters (almost like a goatee).

Most elements of this style were short-lived, but I did learn a lot in 2001, especially on figure drawing (though I went quite overboard with musculature during this period, due to Dynamic Figure Drawing by Burne Hogarth)
