This is one of the very first bird photos I took with my DSLR after I purchased it in 2010. This is a male Scarlet Robin (Petroica boodang), the females are dusky brown on the head and back, and only have a washed out orange front. In the field the colour of the males is a little more scarlet ;) but those sorts of colours are hard to capture, particularly for the beginner I was back then.
Australian Robins are unrelated to both American and European Robins.

Apologies for the large watermark in addition to the small one, but expect it on all my bird photos.
