The clothing is a little light given how cold it is in these villages, and he speaks very blocky english saying a series of words rather than full sentences, but given his appearance most dismiss it as a childs learning years. He sometimes gets asked where his parents are by the locals where he has to tell them "Home, sick". he does still have full access to his powers but needs to be careful using them as fire could burn up his clothes and cause confusion amoungst the locals.
