A design concept that came to me in a dream, though probably wont end up using. their name is Arina a background character probably, perhaps from the same world as scallop and squash.

Her species (known as Maragliss) are quadruped creatures that have adapted to live in deep sea enviroments. Their body is comprised entirely of glass, and the fluid inside them is a special brine that equalises the pressure at the immense pressures these creatures have adapted to live. 

A Maragliss does not die per-se, when smashed, if its golden coloured adornments are set down and located in a specific way (like a ritual) with its shattered glass in the centre, if that glass is melted it will reform back into the original maragliss, however the type of water it is filled with appears to determine its personality. Seawater appears to make the creature overtly agressive when provoked or interacted with. spring water appears to make it very mellow, and de-ionised water appears to make it more energetic and outgoing.
