It was a simple drawing to show off Elias' wardrobe, or part of it. All is rather loose-fitting and airy, since he already has wool to keep himself warm! Clothes are more of a status symbol (and in his profession, Alchemy, also occasionally protection), so it's more to show status than to keep warm. I am really flexible with his clothes, really. As long as the Renaissance/Victorian style is mixed in a nice way it goes. He does not really like to wear trousers but wants to have many, many pockets on his coats...
