I was itching to do some watercolour practice and this kinda came out. I am not sure of the story here, so you can make up your own for it. I have never drawn an Ocelot before so this was my first try. I think it turned out alright. The anatomy isn't too bad, though I think the arm balance is off.
So really just practicing layers and shapes with the watercolours as well as some different sort of lighting on the ocelot. The background is a little too plain

I'd have to disagree there. I think the vagueness of the background draws attention to the detailing you've put into the character. If the background was more detailed, the piece might become too busy with all her spots and lovely detail, and the eye wouldn't know where to look. Just my opinion :)
