Dueling Stag Armor

athousandrasps

The stag armor pulled together nicely! At this point it also has a cape, but no pics of that yet... to come.

New stuff with this armor: darts near the armpits give the front of the armor some shapeliness. It’s more form fitting now that it isn’t just a tube. But I shouldn’t have done the darts in the back. Thankfully, the pauldrons cover the weirdness of them. The pauldrons are a brand new pattern that I’m madly in love with. They button onto the breastplate in front and back. Also new is the background vine pattern. That’s not anything super special, but I wanted to mention it because I’m a fan. I used liquid latex frisket to mask parts of the design for better color control, and WOW did it ever work. I need to be more careful in the future though since it’s easy to not get it right in the lines. But it worked like a charm. Next time I try it I’ll do a tutorial maybe, but it’s as simple as coloring the area you want to keep pristine, painting the frisket on, letting it dry, staining the background, then peeling off the frisket.

We’ve nicknamed this the Renly Baratheon armor, not only because it’s green and has a stag on it, but because it has… two stags. Tee hee hee.

Oh my goodness, this is absolutely gorgeous. This is an impressive amount of work and attention to detail. Absolutely incredible, well done.

Thank you! It isn't without its flaws, but overall I'm quite happy with it. Hopefully I'll get some better photos of it eventually.
