I've had the pleasure of meeting Andrea in person a few times at Anime Central, an anime convention held in Chicago every May, or so. In 2006 I commissioned her to draw a sketch of my avatar in a more casual pose. At the time, much of the artwork that had been done of Arc depicted him fully clad in his battle gear. He also tended to have a "don't touch" sort of expression on his face as he brandished one or more of his weapons. I didn't want people to think he (or I, for that matter,) was some kind of anti-social ***hole, so I asked Andrea if she would sketch Arc wearing street clothes and with a friendlier expression.

The masterpiece you see before you is the result of her work. While Arc's wings aren't shown in this picture, I frequently use it as a reference for other artists since I LOVE the way the ears and the headfin were done. I also really like the design and positioning of the horns (though I think I prefer them straight, rather than curved.) Arc actually does wear a shirt and a pair of knee-length shorts beneath his armor, so this is an excellent depiction of what he'd look like in normal attire. The expression on his face is also much more reflective of his inner personality. He's only mean to people who attack him, or piss him off. ^^
