I'm still pretty new with traditional art asides from just using a regular 2B pencil. But your right I should try different graphite levels.

Have you explored the vast spectrum of graphite hardness? Might save you some trouble when lightly shading the background and getting the right sheen on the widdle bwack sniffler-booper.
