Lineart by inukawaiilover on DA
Colored in Gimp, 2hrs.

I'm particularly proud of this piece. I enjoy how I was able to soften the edges enough to where it still looks good without the line-art, The shading allows the shape of the pokemon to be kept. I am particularly fond of how I decided to blur some of the grass to help focus on the shiny eevee. Initially it was going to be an easter colored eevee, then I decided to go official, then I chose to go shiny. When I decided upon a shiny eevee I was going to make the pokemon sparkle because when I was playing Gold on my GB (black and white) when a shiny pokemon appeared it would sparkle to get my attention to the fact that it was indeed shiny.

I'm not sure if it still sparkles or not, as it's been a while since I've played any of the games. Eevee was my first original favorite pokemon, initially because I had a niece named Evie (sounds the same), then because it was cute, now because of all the different forms it can take and I enjoy the majority of them. I battle with tough pokemon, but I admire the cute ones and would love it if someday a pokemon could be cute and strong. (like a starter that stays cute all through it's evolutions... that would be amazing). However, I learned quickly that the cuter the pokemon, the weaker it tended to be.
