So ever since reading mommyspike's fanfic, I've wanted to draw a picture of Ariana. What better time to do it then CHERRY BLOSSOM SEASON!!1one!!
I tried something completely different to shade. I used...dundundun....Ambient Occlusion! Well I tried to at least. I don't think it came out that well, but it was still fun!

Your artwork is lovely! I think your use of lighting in this is rather well, actually~ The lighting is enough to soften the image, yet you still have really good definition, especially with the wings and tail~ I think you are selling yourself short in this instance, and your attempt at using ambient occlusion was a success~ But that's just me talking, and I'm a long, long way away from your skill level myself~
