The vanity and selfishness

That I once built upon

The ignorance that I had deemed

Is all but dead and gone

You took away my self-esteem

And beat it with a smash

And everything you knew before

Was gone within a flash

You made me think about those words

And all that I had said

You took the pride that was inside

And filled me up with dread

You put me in a corner filled

With sorrow and with shame

Where I had come to realize

I have no one to blame

Yet still I feel there's something left

That I should carry on

You cast me into darkness but

You've yet to see the dawn

The days of shame are over and

It's time for me to stand

To pick up all the pieces and

Establish something grand

You think you have the best of me

That you are going to win

But this is just another start

To which I can begin

You thought that it was over but

We've only just begun

And I will choose to fight until

The battle has been won

You made all of your fortunes and

You flaunted all your gains

I'll take what you created and

I'll burn it down in flames

And when I finish with my plan

I will be standing tall

For in the end my little friend

My pride will be your fall
