Still really love this pic too ;v; I hope I can get a chance to do more full blown vibrant BGs like this more often they're so fun and so relaxing to paint~ Time constraints usually limit me to chibis/minis/tinys and/or simple BGs without scenery :c

Wow I finally finished this sj;lajfk;jdsf you would not believe the amount of lighting/shading details you have to consider when you do water XD I kept finding places I forgot reflections in and stuff that didn't look right and needed fixing owo;
ahahaha how many of my watchers are old enough to remember Tiki ;u; She's still my icon on my old account actually XD Only a few slight changes to her design unlike Riptide who got a more major one since his design was a huge pain and really ugly oAo;

I'm so glad I could finish this on time even with all the school work I had to balance. lol this was sketched January 7th according to the date on the sketch...20 days later it's finally done XD
pffffffffff I blame a 20 min English presentation, history summative, 2 physics projects, and my physics summative which was all due between when this was sketched and when it was finished XD And to boot on Wednesday I had my English and physics exam oAo; Ugh just a history exam left now OTL But I guess it's kinda good timing too since I had all Wed (well after my exams), Thurs, and Fri to finish this picture since I don't have school on exam week. c: Ok I'll stop complaining bout school now XD

Pretty good for a first ever attempt at water like this that's semi transparent and stuff eh? XD I've never actually done water like this before and I was kinda scared I'd totally mess it up and have it end up looking really flat and 2 dimensional, but I'm really happy with it actually cx Had lots of fun playing with all the reflections~ No the tree and such isn't glowing btw it's just reflected from the water XD
Background is linearted with untapered lines (turned off the pressure sensitivity) which I thought looks nicer but wow it's such a pain to do since you have to make them so perfectly straight since you notice it so much more than tapered lines OTL

Oh yes this is an entry for a contest held by pawlings@dA ouo Basically a chara audition kind of thing where we have to draw her in her habitat~ Took some small liberties with her design in the stripes and spots and fin but nothing much.

Thought she'd make good friends with Tiki so I put them together c: haha was thinking of the scene to be like Tiki suddenly popping in from underwater to say hi and surprising Marina who was napping on the palm tree. Of course she wouldn't say live on just this small island though, it's way too small; it's part of a larger archipelago (thank you geography class XD) that also has larger islands.
And just gonna end this off with chara info since I'm treating this like any other chara application

Personality etc:

• playful and curious which makes for lots of fun since Tiki loves to play too and could always use more friends
• enjoys exploring coral reefs and looking at all the fish, especially with Tiki around since she can fight or scare off sharks if need be (check the Balenagon info sheet on Felizz@dA's page lol if you want the background info)
• likes to sunbath and just take it easy
• enjoys diving underwater and making bubbles to watch them sparkle on the way up and possibly surprise a couple unsuspecting fish
• slightly nervous of the open ocean (and doesn't like the colder water) so she stays within the archipelago chain where it's safe and warm

Ok that's it c: Hope you enjoy this I spent quite a while doing this one but it was lots of fun and great practice~ ♥ haha and an excuse to draw Tiki since I still love her I just don't have much time to draw all my charas ;u;
