Barn Business

Amethyst Mare

Mhm, working hard, hardly working!

I'm not so much easily distracted at the stables but I am easily provoked into evil deeds. Most commonly this was picking up a hen and fleeing for my life while the rooster squawked at my heels or locking my friend into a stable box, but hay fights come a close second when, ahem, 'sweeping the yard'. Vasmeth, unfortunately, was on the receiving end of a full out hay fight with me. ATTACK!

Other silly things at the yard included:

  • Locking a friend out on the yard with no lights
  • Chasing the geese or being chased
  • Playing with devil duck
  • Trying to make the Rottweilers sit or lie down
  • Water fights
  • Ice down the back of the coat
  • Loosening the girth of an unsuspecting victim about to mount up
  • Making the stirrups different lengths
  • Hiding one stirrup
  • Going into the fields in the evening to ride bareback
  • Jumping when not supposed to
  • Playing 'close the stable door' with a horse
  • Playing football with a horse
  • Letting a horse drink from the hosepipe
  • Leaving someone stranded on top of stacked hay bales
  • Wheeling someone around in a wheelbarrow
  • Standing on the water troughs when filled with ice
  • Leaving milk bottles in the water barrels to stay cool
  • Telling the children that there is a wolf in one stable
  • And more

Just a sample. ;3

Along the lines of "the fuck are you guys doing?" Though I love the lads/horses that grab the brooms when we forget them and try to copy us 'sweeping' - horseplay at its finest!

I think we amuse them as much as they do us... if not more so.
