In class, we had to create more miniature paintings using images from a National Geographic for inspiration. The one I was handed had a picture of an older man with a bunch of very pretty canaries, and another article had some absolutely GORGEOUS images of nebulae and stars. One of the nebula pictures ended up looking like it had a bird's head, so I merged the two concepts. My canary turned out looking more like a phoenix, but oh well. *laugh* It's still a bird.

And a short story about this one as well, if you noticed the little non-paint specks around the image... Coming out of class, I had eight or so wet mini-paintings, unable to stack them because they would smudge, and the box I used to transport them wouldn't carry all of them. It wasn't that big of a concern, so I just set two of the paintings on top of the box and head to class. It wasn't an issue until I walk outside after class...

And it's SNOWING outside. An enormous, steady stream of snowflakes on top of my poor artwork. oAo Damn you Canadian weather! So I had to book it from the university all the way up the hill to the dormitory building, praying that water wouldn't affect oil paintings.

Seems both of the paintings that were on top of my box and covered in snow survived intact and dried rather quickly. Because my one (the final leopard painting in the lynx-leopard morph sequence) wasn't as freshly painted, it had no ill effects at all. This one suffered a little bit of damage, but that'll be fixed later when I've finished the rest of my paintings up.
