Wood Fae on Masonite by Aliehs Slade

Wood Fae on Masonite

Aliehs Slade

A more recent one!!!! Just a few months old now =)
(copied from previous description)

Just a little something different. I spotted these Masonite frames around Christmas time at Hobby Lobby and wondered how well they would burn. Turns out it burns quite well! You can create almost the same textures you can with wood and it was a lot of fun to work with. A lot of mixed media here to get the kind of colors I was after. So what is actually burned and what is colored? Anything that is brown or black is burnt. The shading underneath any of the colors is burnt. Most of the outlining....is burnt. I used colored pencils to get the skin and hair tones as well as use purples and metallic blue, bronze, gold, and silver. And of course the bit of green.

I gotta say...I am in love with that tiny dragon. He really steals the show for me =D

Hope you like this =) Now that I know it burns well I have 4 others waiting to be decorated and unclaimed!
