I've sat on this for a while as it carries a lot of emotion for me. This lovely piece was created by betsy, who is active on Twitter rather than here these days. It was a traditional piece rather than digital, which is a rarity for her at the moment. I need to get a frame and a proper border for this.

She completed it last June and the original arrived in the mail about 6 weeks later as we just couldn't seem to coordinate schedules for a face-to-face pick-up.

I downloaded the digital copy on Thurs. June 16. I shared it with my mother that morning in the hospital saying, "My art friend who did the Moxie Squirrel did another piece of art for me."

When she looked at it, her eyes lit up and in her slurred speech she said, "That's my Aldin (sub real name for Aldin)." It was one of the last times she was conscious before she passed away two days later.
