Getting back into the art groove has been really hard lately, mostly just scratching at a few WIPs until something appears finished, but considering my massive comfort zone for dragons, this seemed like a safe bet as my first post of the year! This is Ruby, a human-dragon shapeshifter.

She’s a character in Tedric’s part of the timeline in The Wing Knight Saga, which I’ve tentatively named The Dragon’s Charge. Ruby is not the titular dragon, but she and her shapeshifting family do play a significant role to the main group’s quest. She’s a friendly and inquisitive type, though the others don’t find out about her human form right away!

I haven’t drawn the rest of the main group yet, I just happened to finish Tedric and Ruby first, though I’ve had Ruby’s sketch since August/September. I’m not 100% on my game this week so stuff is bound to change later on, but I like how this looks for now.
