To the Egyptians, Apep was the embodiment of Darkness and Chaos. He chased the Solar barge as Ra carried the sun around, every day he was decapitated by the Sun God in a cat form, and every night he regrew it.

I always found him to be a really interesting personifcation of evil, and he has a lot of titles, "The Snake of Chaos" and the "Devourer of Souls". The egyptians had a lot of soul devouring to worry about from their deities. He lies in wait below the horizon, ever out of sight, eyes fixed on the sun.

I disturbed his temple, and have been "rewarded" accordingly. Loss of limbs, hatred of light and heat, not to mention a new colorscheme. Like Nyhgualt mentioned in his post, we settled on non-morphic serpents and using ourselves as the subjects, I chose a cobra and he chose a python.
