More 2014 art while I get my gallery up to date!

This was my entry for a contest held by RoboShark on DA last year. The idea was to draw his shark 'sona Jay in a crossover with another world, and since he liked my skilyg species, I decided to draw him visiting some baby skilyg at a ranch!

Some further explanations of the world, from the original description:

The rancher/salesman seen here is an ordac, one of my story's "voiced" (i.e. sapient/human-like) species. I was originally going to use a norbatrul, but I've been drawing them a lot lately so I decided to give another species some attention for a change. Although skilyg were originally domesticated by norbatruls, they are now common throughout Illupia and are kept by many different species including ordacs.

The symbols on the bottom half of the sign are the translation of the ranch name in Quils, the traditional language of Illupia. And yes, it does actually say something, it's not just random lines, because I am an idiot who likes to waste time inventing fictional languages instead of working on more important things. "Chela" is the name of the island this picture is set on, and is part of the kingdom of Illupia. Although English was adopted as the kingdom's official language long ago, most people now learn Quils as a second language for heritage purposes, so you will often see bilingual signs like this around the place. Fun.
