As a cub, Shetani was a precocious reader with a thirst for knowledge. Whereas most adults would be worried by an out-of-sight child combined with a suspicious lack of noise, the little cheetah's parents knew she was simply holed up somewhere with her nose buried in a book. All sorts of literature were fair game to the voracious young reader. Fiction stories could take her on exciting and fantastical journeys, and she also loved informative tomes that taught her amazing facts about animals and the natural world. Shetani whiled away countless joyful hours of her youth lying in a sunbeam while revisiting an old favorite.

This art was commissioned with the intent to illustrate a particular section of Shetani's biography. Artist Skelisteri's soft and whimsical painting style perfectly captures the warm, nostalgic feeling I wanted this piece to convey.
