Had the fantastic experience of witnessing the original pilot trailer for Help! I’m a Fish (the US version has NO special features >8’c) and just HAD to draw these two.

It really is! I love pre-production of my favorite films, and this movie is no exception!
I also prefer the final hat design. It's just so dang cute. <3 Though I do prefer the hair on the pilot version of him.Here, take a gander and see what you think!

Yeah, the original seems to be more 'tufty' whereas the revision is more like a fin-like extension. I do like the tufty look more. I'd not heard of the film before but there's a lot of cinema I've not been introduced to. :)

Seeing the design on a toon evolve in its emphases is fascinating. I think the hat's brim on the right was the most solid design move. The character also seems slightly more golden-age in its feel there.
