pictured here is Versearrun or Verse, Season 1's main protagonist, strutting cautiously through a war-torn Celestionese battlefield set aflame by the gunfire of a new holy war, clutching their Weston F-37 ManEnder close in case the party meets who they're looking for a little too soon. i love Verse, and i tried to capture some of their troubledness in their expression and body here, as well as show some of the raw "dirtiness" that years of piracy and turmoil, internal and external, have written into them.

Elancia's twin moons shine on them from behind, flanked by the sky ring, a dense orbital torus of gas and clouds that appears to be habitable, although no Elancians possess the means to reach it. the moons are styled after Risk of Rain, another cowboy-themed work set in a fantasy-SF world.
