While chatting with some friends, we had come upon the subject of mirrors used in jewelry and how they can be worn as a sort of amulet. I've always had a fascination with mirrors anyways, so naturally ideas immediately started to come to mind. Going with the theme of protection, gryphons were one of the first critters which came to mind, themselves being guardians of treasures. These are sculpted a bit differently than my normal pendants, more like a raised image. I still enjoy the idea of having a flip side to the pendant, so these amulets have a back side as well. If one day you're feeling that you just need protection, you can wear the mirror in, but if you're expecting a confrontation, the mirror can be worn out.

Casting for these has already been started! I had some heavy doubts that this would even work. For one thing, I didn't have any idea how I would keep the mirror in while casting. Then there's the flow of resin and vents... really, this should not have worked out as well as it did. There are still some pockets which take quite a bit of extra time to repair, which is why I'm [i]limiting these guys to only 25 casts at most.[/i] This includes the special paints which I come up with, so it's better to get a custom sooner than later, as I have plenty of color ideas for these guys!

These measure about 1.5 in tall and 1.5 in wide. The pictures you see above are the original sculpture, sculpted in monster clay. Monster clay never dries or bakes, so casting is a must in order for the idea to be realized. Customs are open, and I'll be posting special paints soon!
