Team Spitfire - Got Wrecked [23] -END-

Well, this has been one hell of a trip, hasn't it? Starting as a one-panel-per-page, updates-whenever-I-want, half-assed narrative to a twice-weekly, full-on (dare I say it) webcomic, complete with character development and foreshadowing!

I look back at those first few pages and flinch because of how bad they are, and how roughshod the concept was. But it wasn't without purpose! It was just the baby steps for what was to come. I did them on the one-panel page format because I'd just come off doing another comic and had had difficulty with panel layout and pacing, but since I've eased myself into digital art, I've been able to change the layout on the fly and get more creative with them. The primary reason for switching to multi-panel pages was actually spurned by a scene I wound up changing: Jordan's first appearance in the locker room. Instead of him cracking his back, I planned to have him putting gel in his hair and spiking it up, but I wasn't feeling it and went instead for the physical suffering.

That was a lot of this comic: last-second changes. Fenton getting involved in the fight, how Nina put an end to the brawl, Martin being an outright dick to Sandra...even this epilogue with Cicero and Quinn. Like I said, I had no plans of using either of them past their initial mentions/appearances in the story.

This entire comic happened because I really wanted Carrie to slug Hex. That was one thing that didn't change, at least, and the fact that a cohesive story formed around that single panel was amazing.

So, what's going to happen now that Got Wrecked got wrapped? I'm going to turn my focus to Data Thingies, as well as a brief Matoaka non-sequitur that won't be nearly as involved as this. Once those are done, I'll be taking a respite from comic making as I plan out the next two series: one that picks up after Got Wrecked, and another based on Abby. I'll be updating each one of those on a weekly basis should time permit. :)
