Good news: Nutter is back. Bad news: pretty much everything else.

Lemme talk about this page for a bit.

• this page and the following page and a half are all that’s left of the very first draft of the script (back when the story was called The Time Police)
• this was supposed to be a case about Kevin but now Kevin lives in London, not Newton
• I think the previous 10 pages didn’t hurt the story to say the least
• the lamp on Nutter’s desk is the same lamp I had on my desk when I lived at my grandparents’
• actually, some visual sides of Newton and the overall mood are influenced by the part of my life I spent living with grandparents in a small rural-ish town
• I don’t like skipping time periods in fiction because it distances the reader from the characters since we are unable to skip miserable periods of our lives in real life but it was needed (for those who are curious, Chance spent the time on a leave recovering and trying to avoid physical therapy and Nutter was studied by various police official trying to decide what pushed him to a murder and what to do with him now)
• the perfect soundtrack for this page would be “Mad World” by Gary Jules with flashback moments sounding like radio static
