My Own by StangWolf

My Own

StangWolf

I've been meaning to find a way to post this (and two others) for a long time now. I've been thinking I'd take them and get them scanned someplace that has a large scanner, but I either keep putting it off or can't find the time. So I broke out my camera and took some photos of them to post!

They're not quite the usual vibrancy that scanning captures, but it still worked really well!

That being said, this is one of 3 of my "Series Drawings" that were our final assignment in my Drawing II Class in Spring of 2011. One of the projects I really enjoyed in all of my art courses, perhaps due to leniency in choosing our subject matter and media!

The series pieces all needed to be connected in some manner and I chose two things: 1) Marker & 2) Mustangs. As you will see with the posting of all three pieces.

This one here was actually my 3rd piece in the series and unfortunately I was running out of time to finish it and some of my poor markers were starting to give up on me as well, so it's unfortunately not quite as put together as the other two. Not in my opinion.

This one is titled "My Own" because it's a collage of various points on my own 2003 Mustang GT. It is nearly that color blue. Google "Sonic Blue Mustang" and you'll see what the color actually looks like. The real color is a bit more "purple/blue" than the blue I have here. Still it matched fairly well.

The color of my Mustang is also what inspired Tala's blue fur.

This piece is 21"x15.5" in size so it's fairly large, and the largest marker piece I've done to date.

I used some pictures of my own car as references.

I hope you enjoy it!
