Todd and Aubrey Reilly by StangWolf

Todd and Aubrey Reilly

StangWolf

Not much to this one, and I'll be moving it to scraps at least by the end of the week. Still wanted to share for a couple reasons.

The main reason being this is a fairly accurate portrayal of the size difference between husband and wife there. Todd is around 6'-6'2" and Aubrey is 5'2". I also like the blond and brunette stuff they got going on, diggin their colors side by side.

Another reason is that this is how I originally planned for them to look color palette wise. Unfortunately, I haven't quite worked out what methods and which markers I need to accomplish at least Todd's color scheme. I'm much more happy with his strawberry blond look here on his tan fur and hair.

This may also be nice for anyone who'd like to try their hand at digitally coloring these two in the future which is why I felt like I'd leave their lil color palette blocks on this piece.

Other than that I just took the inks of Todd and Aubrey, converted them to a black & white bitmap image, copied and pasted to a new MS Paint canvas and then touched up and added their flat colors.

I've been using this method of preparing colors on a few of my new characters seeing as it helps me kind of skip some of the trial and error with trying to eyeball marker colors that I'm trying to visualize in my head. On the downside...I end up with a color I really like and can't seem to find the right markers to match up to it, which is what happened with Todd this time around. I'll get it figured out though!

Hope ya enjoy!
