The French had a very particular style for their posters, an almost Caravaggio-like chiaroscuro which greatly increased the drama and impact of the images. Also rim lights.
This is the style that my customer was interested in, so I tried to deliver. The proportions are a bit exaggerated but I kinda like the elongated look on figures.
