Armored Coyote by YoshiCooki (critique requested)

Armored Coyote (critique requested)

YoshiCooki

Did this drawing yesterday as well when I was practicing on posing and hand placement. I actually liked how this turned out and it was fun to try out posing and such. Also a first time drawing my sona in armor so I know its not the best but it was fun trying something new.

If you like what I do, why not visit my Furaffinity to see more artwork there?

Generally quite good, particularly on the shading. The line work looks just a little choppy... are you using layers with your drawing software? If you sketch the general shape on a lower layer, then draw on top of it, you can make your lines much smoother by 'sculpting' precisely the right portions out of the sketchy, less proportional lower layer. You do have to play it by eye though, and as much as possible I'd recommend comparing your anatomy with other artists to make sure you've got the right mix of style and substance. Another thing you can practice with is using less free-hand tools to make straighter lines. It looks like that trident came out more curvy than you might've anticipated. With a traditional art, you can use a ruler to make sure straight edges are consistent. With digital art, there's straight line tools to get this to work.

Things are looking good though~ Keep it up! Practice makes perfect.

Many thanks for the feedback. I greatly appreciate it. With the program I'm using, there are layer options that I put to good use with the shading and such. As for straight line tools, that isn't possible cause the program I use doesn't come with it and is completely free hand. That's the drawback to using a art software on a 3DS. But I will definitely keep that in mind when I use my laptop to draw in Fire Alpaca.

I do appreciate the critique and will use that advice to improve.
