With war looming on the horizon, Basil looked to finally be getting his chance to shine, unfortunately his chivalry, manners, and slightly-prissy nature were of no use to him on the battlefield. What was of use to him however, was his ability to act under pressure. Upon losing his shield, he fought simultaneously with his sword and spear, and soldiered on valiantly after his father, Basil VI was slain.

The actions he took afterward had him expelled from the army, and when he fell in with a group of ruffians and magic-users, this holy warrior found his true purpose. He's perhaps a little too caught up in his persona to be the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to things outside of battle, but when he's dropped on a battlefield, Basil knows his stuff, and carries himself with brutal precision.
