Well, 2D animation is quite different from 3D from what I know.
In 3D, instead of setting up each frame manually, you can set up keyframes for your character's poses at different times, which get interpolated.
Similarly, here, there's also keyframes for the car deformation and camera movements.
The challenge is making everything look natural :D
