Keeping it simple this year. From today until New Year's, I'm going to be mostly absent.
Christmas Eve I'll be attending service at my church.
Christmas day I'm making a huge meal for Kobi and I (and maybe 1-2 other people if anyone wants to join). Since we don't have money for much in the way of presents, we usually just have a really nice dinner.
The Menu:
Roast chicken served with Sauce Madame, a chutney made from pear, quince, grapes and spices (from a 14th century recipe)
Mushroom and cheese pasty made with a blend of cheeses from Spain and California (from a 14th century recipe)
Gingerbread (from a 15th century recipe)
A selection of Spanish cold cuts and cheeses served with crackers.
Imported English Christmas pudding, served flaming with Hennesey Cognac.
White wine (the best I could get under $7)
This is going to be a very nice Christmas indeed!
