It's more active than FA was when FA was new. It just takes a long while for a site to develop a community, I think.

Everyone went back to FA after they got folders.

I would like to think it would be the folders on FA and the featured journals.

I honestly never saw Weasyl very active to begin with. If I post an image on FA, IB, Tumblr and Weasyl it gets less than a fifth of the views here that it gets on the next lowest site. No one even bothers to fave much of anything, much less comment on it. The community here just feels non-existent by comparison. I'm not sure if it's because Weasyl feels less convenient, if the 'don't change it, it's perfect' elitism has soured everyone over time, or if people here are more focused on posting their own art and not investing the time to show appreciation for anyone else's.

So are so right. Even in those heavy traffic periods, no one commented on anything really. At least for me, I don't know what someone who's more popular received. I don't know how people feel it's less convenient, it feels more user friendly than FA and it has a lot of the same perks. So it just boils down to people being lazy and complacent.

FA is an addiction. It's going to take an intervention to get people to realize how bad it is.

To be honest, Weasyl has two main sources of exclusive artists: Artists who are ticked off at the FA administration and artists who want to escape 'drama'.

Most of the former tend to calm down and go back to FA after a while. Many of the latter end up discovering that there is 'drama' wherever they go and tend to decide to at least go where there are more people looking at their stuff.

If there is little art that you have to come here to get, not too many people are going to bother, (about half my time on the site is looking over my watch notifications and checking them off "seen it, seen it, seen it..." then just deleting the notifications).

Without a stable reason for people to make this a primary site, people are going to gravitate back to the one where all the content and viewers are. Notice how the two stable FA competitors each have something to offer: SoFurry has always been better for stories, (and started as the 'big boy' in the furry fiction market), while IB has the more relaxed rules for underage art. Weasyl is just another general-purpose furry art site, for most people there simply isn't enough of a reason to switch and without a large number of people coming here it's never going to reach enough of a userbase for long-term stability.

FA still [barely] works, so no one needs to come here yet, next BIG FA crash they will flood back.

lazyness and a snowballing effect if people arent here theres no traffic ,if theres no traffic then no one comes here i visit once a month and its sad how little journals and stuff gets posted in a month
