July to September:

• Get Biff Vol.4 done. FINALLY! = D

The past three months were a real mixed bag. I got out to one convention – Terrificon (formerly ComicCONN) – for a few hours. I say “A Few Hours” ‘cause it was a pain to locate inside the casino it was being held in. This is despite knowing that casino very well thanks to years of visiting it and knowing some of the folks who have worked there. I didn’t make it out to either ConnectiCon or Wizard World Philly. Money and time conflicts pretty much killed all hope of getting there this year. Next year, perhaps…

One of the good things that happened is I Finally got Biff Vol.4 done. I took some time away from the regular uploads to do it but I did it and it’s done. The cover was really the only thing that was holding me back as I spent far too long overthinking instead of drawing. Once I got it all out, it not only helped make sticking the book together quick but I seem to have gained a bit of an artistic boost. I’m drawing more now than I have in years and the desire to draw is back. You better believe I’m taking advantage of it now before it dies out or drops back down to the usual low levels again. = )

The rest of the year seems to be all prep work for other projects. I’m making great time by doing this Drawlloween thingie. Once it’s done, I’m going to stick everything in a book and pop it up as another Pay-What-You-Want deal. I still need to get started in on Biff Vol.5 with hopes of getting that one done for the comic’s ten-year anniversary in February. Kinda’ want to do something extra that’d be neat for then, too.

Still haven’t finished gathering up all the stuff for my custom Gundam project yet but I’m pretty sure that will come together in time. Of all of my concerns, that’s at the bottom of my list. It will be joined by a custom paint job (and maybe a few mods) on a Nerf Rebelle Five-by-Five dart gun. Say what you will about Nerf’s girl-centric line, it seems to have scooped up all the nice smooth curves that scream “Toy” that were dropped years ago on their regular lines. It’s also a hammer-style revolver that is totally awesome. Although it’s just a repaint of sorts of Nerf’s “Sweet Revenge”, it sports mostly Covenant colors in the plastic along with a very Halo-esque shape. The goal is to paint one up with a color-shifting paint using a fabric masking technique to give it that hexagonal pattern. Stuff I’ve always wanted to try by never had the chance. Bonus: I get a new unique Nerf gun out of it.

• Get more Non-Drawlloween Monster Girls drawn.
• Buy the paints and fabric for the Nerf project.

Nice. Simple. Plenty of space to more without giving me enough rope to hang myself with (Hopefully).
