I just ended up having to unwatch someone over on Furaffinity.net and block them, because they made an issue out of people disagreeing with them. They said they would block people if they disagree with them, because it's obvious that they wouldn't get along knowing that they disagree and how dare you have an opinion that is different from theirs about a subject that they feel passionate about...

I used to only encounter this stupidity on Tumblr, but now it's spreading like a cancer all over the Internet. This dumbass idea that disagreement somehow equals abuse. The whole idea stinks, but what stinks even more than that is the attitude behind it. This attitude that "you must agree with me on everything if you want to be my friend" smacks of an unhealthy obsession with control. If I have to bite my tongue because someone I watch posts an opinion I passionately disagree with in order to be allowed to keep watching their art, then they are an abusive asshole who obviously doesn't want me watching them.

Disagreeing with you does not make me abusive. You threatening to block me if I disagree with you, is abusive. If you're so full of yourself that you can't tell the difference, then you need to get off the Internet and never come back, start some personality cult in the middle of nowhere, and stay out of the public eye.
