I just wanted to say thank you SO much to everyone for their support and help over the past week or so since getting laid off. Those of you who signal boosted me have made a tangible difference, I'm happy to say I've gotten some commissions to last me through the next few months and am already working on them. Very big thanks to those of those of you who are commissioning me, especially-- I love all the prompts folks have come to me with and am excited to do them. (And yes, I am still taking commissions! There is a queue but any new stuff will start getting approval sketches in late Nov.)
When I realized that I would not be going back to my day job, as soon as the initial shock wore through, I realized that the only sensible thing to do right away would be to work even harder on my art. Already I've only got a scarce two weeks left until Illuxcon, so I was already in a hard push, but now have more time at my disposal-- My mentor challenged me to get two paintings done in that time and I'm aiming to also finish a third.
Beyond that, I'd already been making various plans to get my work out there over the next year and really get my career going-- now I have no more excuses to dally on that. I'm going to find a way to turn this job loss into an opportunity, and the support you all have shown me in the wake of such is making that possible. Thank you, thank you, thank you <3
In the mean time; if you want to see new art from me on a (nearly) day to day basis, follow my Instagram, Tumblr and Twitter for regular WIP shots and stuff. Otherwise, big paintings and exciting news coming over the next month, so stay tuned.
