Maybe everyday is a bit too much to commit to right out of the gate. While I've had a Weasyl account for a while, I've really become interested in advocating its use and providing some content. Maybe that will mean some writing, maybe it will mean adding people to my watch list or subscriptions, maybe it'll mean something else entirely.

FurAffinity has always been the de facto standard for art posting and commissioning, and the common story I hear from content contributors is mainly that they don't want to continue using it (moreso since the IMVU debacle) but the hits are there, so they can't stop using it. Understandable.

I think one of the strongest forces for changing this mindset is making Weasyl (and other competing platforms) more active, and making the conscious choice to move to those other platforms. Based on what I've seen of Weasyl so far, it's a lovely compact platform that is geared towards multiple different types of content contributors, which I personally think is an excellent start. The more platforms that integrate with each other (which, to its credit, Weasyl does), the more the platform that individuals use will become less relevant.

So, back to why I'm here. I'm a commissioner, for the most part. I pay people to make art of my characters. If I had more time, I might even start working on my own visual art skills, but for now, that's relegated to a dream to explore at a later time. That said, I like to write, and I think I could really gather some inspiration to write short stories here, or maybe even initial drafts of writing projects. The more I get feedback on them and share them with others, the more time I'll feel confident committing to those types of projects.

I'm hoping to get information about my characters up here soonish, at least my primary fursonas. I'd like to get used to the 'Characters' aspect of Weasyl and what it allows me to do. Should prove interesting!

It can be cruel when an overwhelming majority of both the supply and the demand for a commodity are in the same place, as it gives a strong reason against leaving for producer and consumer alike. Sadly, the folks who chant "If you don't like it then leave." fail to understand economics....
