Since it's final now, I'm proud to announce that my short story Guardian Angels has been accepted into FurPlanet's new noir anthology, Inhuman Acts!

A few years back I had devised a character for a setting just like this; some of my older artworks feature her, a wolf angel Aurora. She has since been renamed Azriel, and is the central character in a story taking place in a city overwhelmed by corruption, where the populace has become willfully ignorant of its destitution and the police are either on the mob’s payroll or are too scared of the former to be effective. A group of ferocious vigilantes struggle to fight back against this system, and most lethal among them is Azriel herself. However, in a city so corrupt that evil evolves against the only force willing to fight it, victory seems like a distant pipe dream even for those on the front lines.
