FNAF 4 by Rob Swanson

TL:DR
It has been released, I need to see if my ancient laptop will run it and then see about getting my hands on a copy.

Long version:
I've been a fan of this franchise. It's one of the better horror games released in a while. That's not to say it's without its faults, but it's a really good series. Also, I've heard that the "Bite of '87" is explained.

I haven't played this game series, but as an offhanded observation (knowing that it seems to be based on the Showbiz Pizza animatronics), wasn't 1987 about the time Showbiz officially closed up? It's successor "Chuck-E-Cheese" was similar and became popular, but it wasn't the same thing as Showbiz was. Do you think that it may be a reference to that? (I'm old enough to have gone to Showbiz as a kid and seen the animatronic shows....... lol)

It's uncanny, the lore for the game is pretty much exactly what you suggested about Showbiz and Chuck-E-Cheese. The series explains the changes in location as one business closing and a new business (with a marginally different name) opening. The new business always tries to "do Freddy's right" and things keep happening.

I bet the people who created the series either experienced the change or they saw the documentary about Showbiz that came out a few years ago! :D

I mean the games/arcade games were fun, but I remember actually going for the animatronic shows as a kid. When you're a kid...it seemed much more "real" than looking back on it all as an adult! XD
