FHL Season 4 Off-Season News and Notes by FHL

Welcome Players, GMs, Commissioners, and Fans to the Off-Season for the Furry Hockey League Season 4! We hope you enjoyed the previous season, and hope are ready and prepared for the season to comes. This journal will lay out the main things that will be happening over the off-season and setting up for the next seasons, which is expected to begin early October.

RETIREMENTS

Before we get into the "meat" of whats needed to be done in the off-season, it is time to report on thoes that are hanging up their skates.

Those that retired are listed below:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/13UtULiy1uu2K0EoFyUJv4a8BzbhgJ7CDP88A6LR_IaU/edit?usp=sharing

Those retirements have been recorded accordingly on the team sheets, and thus will not be mistaken in retainments.

If a player for any reason wishes to retire, or wishes to restart anew(retire and rookie), they only need to note the FHL with their wishes and we will complete the process as required. All retirements must be in by August 7th, 2015. Any retirements that occur after that time will be denied, and their player will play out the entirety of Season 5.

EXPERIENCE POINTS: ACCRUED and SPENDING

Ladies and Gentlefurs, as it is now the off-season, it is time to spend that hard earned XP!

Experience can be spent in two ways to better your player:

1) Growth Points can be purchased to add a point of a skaters base stat. These base stats will then boost your calculated scores in various amounts.
2) Perks can be purchased to give players a strong buff in a calculated stat, or buff a player in a way that can't be done through growth point. Each perk however can only be purchased once.
3) Players may also "bank" their XP, but it is advised not to, unless attempting to secure a perk.

To see the costs of GP and Perks are, and to see what Perks are available check here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cMmmf2saEapSf17h3srbzTODGPg_Wq49AeMu7odHals/pub?output=html

Current Total XP for the player, plus potentional GP should no perks be purchased is available here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1f6iNxLZLCsV3yiX0uQ8J4M0Oc3lnr6W1nJeuUEQHqeo/pubhtml?gid=408659079&single=true

Please note to do to the voted change in scailing, players GP is based on a Growth Point reset, and thus points are calculated by a lower number. If you wish to check the scale, you may access the calculator here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BEyhyp2yfaYYnFcTnoIvPBJNv1xrVzEXtTWd_7e8oJ0/edit

There are a couple players who lost a few GP, and will need to contact the FHL for the adjustment. This should be the only season however that such will happen for the near future due to this situation.

GM's can spend XP for any player who has not submitted an expenditure by July 27th, 2015. All XP Expenditures must be in by August 7th, 2015. Any player which does not have a expenditure by the player or the players GM by that time will have their remaining XP converted into equal GP, and be spent by the commissioner.

For any other questions dealing with XP spending, you may comment below or note the FHL.

EXPERIENCE POINTS: ACHIEVEMENTS

As noted earlier this yea, the FHL Achievement Sheet was expanded, so as to give rookies and low season veterans who are active a better chance to grow. If you have not picked it up, the sheet is available here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rc9-QWIjYCZba3butaZMIV6wLSVZ6zLqWJRbbO_QWLE/edit

To earn Experience for this seasons through the Achievement Sheet, players must note the FHL their sheet by August 7th, 2015. Any sheet reported at that time will be accredited to your XP, but cannot be spend until next year.

GOALIE RESET

As mentioned during the season, due to the change in goalie stats, and the addition of new stat boxes, all Goalies have been reset back to a their base creature stat lines. Goalies will need to submit a full goalie sheet, including the 16-21 points that would of been purchased in the creation of the character, plus any growth points earned. This is the number that is in the point space for goalies on the XP Sheet.

RETAINMENT

As part of the Parity policies of the league, not all players are retiained by teams between seasons. During the Off-Season, each team will select up to 6 players to retain for the upcoming season, which GMs can do by highlighting their 6 players on the Season 4 charts.

All teams have until August 14th, 2015 to set their retainments, at which point their choices will be locked, and non retained players will be released for the upcoming draft.

DRAFT

The third week of August will be the FHL Player Draft for Season 5! During the week, teams will draft players from both the unretained veterans and the new rookies for Season 5. A draft board will be available closer to Draft time. GMs are encouraged to submit a pre-draft list before the draft begins to avoid any issues with out-of-timezone deadlines for picking.

Please note, due to the shift to 2 lines, there is a limit of 10 skaters per team, until the point at which all teams have 10 skaters.

TEAM MOVEMENT: Jack Knight's San Antonio Savages

One final note for the Off-Season, is that due to a retirement of the GM, a team will be moving. At the end of Season 4, Bakersfield Buckaroos owner SierraRacs decided to retire from GMing, who we understand it's a challenge and thank for the time running the team. Due to this, the team was acquired by Jack Knight who has decided to move the team to San Antonio. Thus, the San Antonio Savages have been born! We wish good luck to him and his players in the upcoming season!

With that, we hope everyone has a good off-season and good luck next year!
