OK So there's a draconian set of rules as to whether or not I can upload my commissions here. Please Ben reconsider the rules as to uploading commissioned artwork. I understand y'all wanna give priority to the artists making the pieces, but if I bought the art they created, I own that art and have a legal right to putting up the art I've bought since it is something I purchased.
Thanks if anyone listened to this.
MASSIVE EDIT: The Policy has changed, I change my viewpoint, I'll delete this journal tomorrow, March 1st, If I remember to.
On the one hand, they said in the recent news post that the system isn't mandatory, yet on the other their Help page says one of those three conditions needs to be met, so it seems kind of ambiguous at this point. They also said they're still developing the system and taking suggestions, and with as many people complaining, you'd think they'll cave eventually. In the meantime, with regard to that ambiguity, have you thought about just.... uploading your stuff anyway? Just to see if anyone does anything about it?
i havent had any problems with upping my comissions *shrugs* mainly cause i also send collection reqs for most of them idk
Actually unless you got a contract, you don't even hold a copyright on commissioned artwork, you just paid its creation.
I mean if an artist doesn't want me posting their art to my page I won't do it. I almost always ask the artist if I can repost their work on my page with a link to their submission and account before I do the post. I've stopped asking recently because it seems most artists I commission don't really care if I repost their artwork anyway.
