I listen to this ogg, and remember glory by GuzzleMuzzle

The battle theme to a high quality MegaZeux RPG called "red" (lower case "r") - https://www.dropbox.com/s/ax42wrhb1gwmymc/battle.ogg?dl=0

As my avatar would suggest, I am indeed a pussy. I took a moment to think back on the strongest of my story ideas, and the art of the world that inspired them. The emotional arcs that I've always intended to somehow put in written form in a way that synced well with a reader's interests, or very soul, and then I almost cried. I can't easily portray hard adversity featuring disadvantaged but soon-to-rise-to-power heroes where strong emotion is concerned, even though I verily would.

Very relevant: https://www.weasyl.com/journal/65563/i-have-too-many-ideas-that-make-me-cry

I remember the times when young teens and young adults took to paper and animation to bring forth the most badass and richly inspired works of art featuring conflict. I loved those days dearly. I think the young people of these days see less reason to bring forth such strong art, but it's very nice to see it spring up when it does. It always warms my heart to know that people whom depression looms over the heads of stand firm and fight back in ways that bring them closure.

We used to look on with amazement at the portrayals of battle weary warriors overcoming impossible odds. The lover against adversity. The hero against the demon. The poor youth turned savior. I think we still do, but on different terms. I'm reluctant to write on the fear that my interpretations of "quality" are quite dated. Like most early 80s born folks, I grew up seeing lots of stereotypes in art, which older people strive to preserve or breathe new life into these days and in the not so distant past. It's flawed in that the people of the current age see things much differently. I also just don't like implying something that may offend people with whom the implied circumstances resonate more deeply with, because some things we call "art" are the very life of someone else. It's a sad fact.

I haven't had too much stable free time to write comfortably about the kinds of things I'm somewhat known for in a long while. Chores, endeavors, errands, and the free time I get spent winding down on other things more than immersing myself back into the world of textual interpretations and poetic flow. I want this to change. But like many people these days, I'm simply tired, for one, plus the face of art is much different. That's not to say I can't eschew misconceptions in favor of putting out more to read though.

Time is moving on, and if it speaks any volumes on the presence of delusion, I try to remain in love of the things some of us have grown up with that spoke to me on a fundamental level concerning artistry. The "market" for what I love may be oversaturated, and people may be less optimistic about what works they would produce in artistry, but I don't think that these things truly die. They just grow stale with one generation, and carry on to the next ones. I don't think we're seeing an end to great things. Only a transition period through which other things will become popularized, and other interpretations, standardized.

I'd love to name drop a few things to make this easier for you guys to understand. As of this post, I'm just lying here listening to that "battle.ogg" music tune in my dropbox (from the retro-stylized RPG "red" for MegaZeux), and earlier than that, I was listening to a bit of VGM Yamaha 2612 music from the game of the Sega Genesis simply called "X-Men", particularly, this tune of its "Savage Land" stage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCJ8EZymgNI The MegaZeux game "red" rings of old-school top-down view, high quality pixelated RPGs like Final Fantasy 4, 5, and 6, and other lovely RPGs of early eras from the SNES, Sega Genesis, PS1, and a few other older systems. <3

I haven't had my paws much in the newer things that have kids and teens excitable with joy an amazement, but I glance at a TV screen or casually browse through prominent entertainment websites from time to time.

As long as young people remain hopeful, art will never die. <3
