Cat Update: The Elder by r-a-blackpaws

Okay...we just got back from the oncologist.

First the good:

-the mass is not imbedded in her stomach or intestinal area.
-there are no issues with her lungs or kidneys

Now the not-so-good:

-the "mass" is actually a cluster of smaller lesions, grouped together
-they have no idea what these lesions actually ARE. Neither doctor had seen anything like them before.

However, they feel that since she's eating, had no change in her activity, is still using the litterbox and was a very good cat at the clinic, they are thinking it might not be serious.

We're supposed to get the results of the cell analysis (they took cells and are sending them to Michigan State University for analysis) sometime on Tuesday.

reminds me of when we took my boyfriends rabbit to the vet and they took an xray to check his guts for blockages, and found out he had crystals...on his liver... and the doctor had absolutely no explanation of how crystals even form on a liver. She had never even heard of it but there it was on the xray. [the rabbit recovered, recently had a small relapse, but is recovering again]
