Wow... 30 days until I move. by Mander

It's dawning ever so quickly on me (Like a graceful freight train really) that in less then 30 days I will be starting my new life in Memphis with Quin. I've got to pay my final month's worth of rent, pay one more electric bill, pay $14 on my internet bill, discontinue service on those things, give my landlord 30 days notice of my intention to vacate the premises with said rent, and pay off the remaining balance of my car repair from my Mazda, lastly I have to complete my final three weeks with my current employment.

Then that's it. I have no further ties holding me back here.

My last day at work is the 27th of May. It's a bit close to the projected move date [June 1st/2nd] but this way I get 7 days of vacation pay paid out to me, on TOP of that final week's check. This will be used to pay for the truck rental, and potentially half a down-payment on an apartment.

Before then, and meanwhile I have to decide what of my belongings I want to take, and what I can throw away and live without.

Really the only things I need are myself, my computer, my clothes, and my cats. Those are the major important things. I lack a car here so there's no issue with that, and all my other belongings (Knick knacks and things of that sort) can easily be re-purchased.
I'm excited, i'm nervous, i'm happy, i'm scared.

But this will all be worth it once I finally get there, and finally get established.

Wow... 30 days until I move.

Best of luck to you with everything! I know it's a huge step, and there's a lot to think about and to get done between now and then. But I know it can be really exciting, too, and I hope you'll be very happy in Memphis and that both of you will have a wonderful life together!

Here's hoping your cats are good travelers, too. A few years ago, I had the joy of transporting three cats (my ex-girlfriends) across four states in the back of her jeep and it was quite an adventure!
