Personal Thoughts About My Art~ by GoldenFeather17

So this is just from me studying up on my art technique and seeing how I draw and color...

I've broken down my art in a few basic things that I don't like about it...

-My poses seem...stiff.

It's like whatever I do for some reason it doesn't seem as...'active' or 'alive' as I want it to look...not enough emotion is being portrayed body wise and frankly that's just something that bugs me...maybe I should try drawing more examples from real life I suppose to put more...action or movement into my pictures?

-My coloring was missing value

By value I mean dark areas are dark...and light areas are light...but with some of the pictures I see...it seems the value is...lost. Like the colors are all just one shade...and that's light. I need to practice more to let colors and shadows stand out compared to my highlights.

-My male anatomy isn't varied enough

I mean granted I DO like that one body type...but I want to push it more...it's hard to do though since to be honest it's hard to find 'cartoon' references that show variation of male bodies...not to be mean but the furry community is sadly not that varied...at least from what I've seen. Males here usually have a feminine physique and don't vary from that besides super muscular...but that to me is too much. I feel I do better if I SEE someone draw the variation of male bodies then I can figure out myself from looking at actual real pictures....but this is just a me thing. I'll try to vary more with males and practice male anatomy overall.

That's about it so far when it comes to my thoughts. I'm still practicing and trying to push myself further in my art but it's hard to do that when I don't understand what's wrong with it to begin with. So yeah~ I'll keep practicing♥
