Updates, Thoughts, and Other Stuff by Rob Swanson
Hey, its been a while sense I last posted a journal and said stuff. How's about I change that today?
On The Hobby/Sports Front:
So, the last of the welts are gone. (The ones I got playing paintball on the 11th.) Because they're gone I think that it's time for some new ones. I'm rounding up some people to go again this Saturday. So far it's me, a couple people I know from college, and my little brother. On the off chance that anyone in Michigan is reading this, go to Lone Wolf's "West" location and you'll find me there. This will be the first time that my little bro and I have both gone and played together. It's funny when you think about it. I've been playing this sport for about 12 years and am only just now going to be playing with my brother. THere were attempts in the past, but scheduling conflicts kept us from being at the field at the same time.
On The Furry Front:
I've been looking at getting some more art. Expect that to show up sometime this weekend. It still feels weird being one of the few furries that isn't also an artist. Does anyone else feel weird like that? In unrelated furry news, I started lurking on the furry sub-reddit a couple of weeks back. To be honest, I should have started being active there a long time ago. It's so much easier to be social and meet furries over there.
On All Other Things:
So, I was thinking about using a GoPro camera when I play paintball this weekend and putting some footage together. Not too long ago, I realized that I don't have much up-to-date footage of actual gameplay. It used to be I would have at least some floating around. If I put that on youtube would anybody have interest in watching it?
I was also thinking about a project from a while back. Some months ago I collaborated with a few people to create a short encyclopedia of sorts with information about the fury fandom. It covered conventions, how to buy art, fursona creation, and other topics that are "common knowledge" inside the fandom but completely unknown outside of it. I was thinking about giving that an update or rewrite. Is anyone interested in seeing a finished product or collaborating in making that?

Haha, well at least you have internet back now. The encyclopedia and furry fandom thing are indeed the same. Either tomorrow or friday I'll put a journal out about how to get involved and see who wants in on it.

I've played a couple times and loved it, but never really thought to get into paintball regularly. Trying to orient my efforts towards sports into amateur rally racing, but it'll take some time.Was actually wondering the fate of the furry article when you were pondering leaving. Not sure I have anything constructive to contribute but would like to see the finished product. :)

It's good to hear that people actually read that article. :P To be honest, I will probably resurrect it either tomorrow afternoon or Friday. When I do, I'll be sure to put a journal out about how to get involved.

Hmm. I know I can art but I really haven't been able to actually draw for well over a year now. So I guess I can identify.
I can't wait to see what new art you get now that you have a nice ref. :)

Under normal circumstances, I would absolutely say you should record an upload your paintball stuff. But I have so many freaking videos to watch since I left the internet for a couple of weeks. So I don't think I would get around to watching it until much later. If you want to do it anyways, I might check it out in month or so X3
About the encyclopedia, are you referring to the intro to the furry fandom thing that I helped out on? Because I am all for it to be continued, rewritten, added to, and rewritten again. Its a fun project, and I see it as having a solid use when its more complete. You just need to have as many viewpoints add to it as possible. Even have some counter each-other as possible "two sides of the situation" points. There are a lot of different people in the fandom, and everyone should have their fair, safe voice =)
