Why do you draw/write/compose? by cuerva

I'm curious. I know everyone draws because they love to draw and because it helps them express themselves. but beyond that I'm curious. What moves your gears? What drives you from one piece to the next? What is your great motivation?

It'd be cool to hear some answers :3

I draw because I love to draw but I have other reasons.

I draw because without art I wouldn't have made it through the many years I didn't have friends and people to support me.

I draw because if I gave up I'd be depressed and wouldn't have made it as far as I have.

I draw because I want to see my creations come to life.

I draw because I want to make beautiful things for people to look at.

I draw because I want to improve the lives of those who see it by sending them messages without ever using words.

I draw because of the support people give me to keep doing it.

I draw because of many different reasons. These are only some of them. Art has supported me... and some of it has supported others. That's more than enough for me.

Those are pretty neat reasons. I think art is a great part in the life of an artist in general, but yeah it's good to know about some of the specific reasons of each one.

Thanks a lot for sharing ♥

Of course. I always share everything with you and this is no exception. Art is a great part of life for any artist. You, me, and any artist we know.

I draw because it's therapeutic and possibly the only other way I'm going to get things out of my head. I am terrible at explanations, here let me draw you what I mean.
Also I love comics and I dream in panels so...
Motivation? Hmmm good question. Sometimes it's music, sometimes it's a movie and sometimes it's something I read that makes me think "Damn, I wanna do something like that" or "Damn I want to make a good story that touches people like that"
I think these are questions I need to re-ask myself in the future when I learn how to time manage.

I meant to comment on this earlier but i guess late is better then never

I draw because it's the only thing i'm good at, i do it cause i'm bad with words and explaining things is hard, i draw because if i dont do something creative with myself i'll go crazy.

i mainly draw for myself, but one of the things that will get me in the mood to draw more is people's reactions to my art. if i can make them laugh or smile or feel something from what i do, it makes me want to do it again. the better i get the more of a reaction i get... it's like a loop i guess.

    A combination of sheer, dim-witted stubbornness, and a painfully strong work ethic in my case. It isn't like it isn't fun for me at all -- quite the contrary, but I'll often burn myself out. @~@ I have this undying urge to create, and if I don't indulge it for a few days, I start feeling really bad. x.x;
