Back from FWA by savageshark

Posting in the format for FA. I'm still unsure what the code for posting artist names is for Weasyl.

Well I got back from FWA 2015 yesterday. Though today, I needed a chance to sleep off the flight and the time difference. Good thing Texas Weather got me up around 8 with a thunderstorm.

So on the first day I show up, I need to get my con badge. Sure enough there was the ever popular “Line Ride”. Fortunately I found :iconGideon: to help make the waiting more bearable, especially since he let me cut in line with him XD

After getting my badge I came across some familiar faces like :iconSyrae-Universe: :icondonryu: and :iconmortis_Kull: As well as meeting some new folks like :iconl2edPanda: :icontamyra: and :icondarkjinti: I’m still sorting through the art cards to learn more about folks.

After that I went on to the Dealer Den and got some cool art work from a few artists as well as some new comics and art books. I got to meet :iconsilverfox5213: and :iconPrincess_Rei: as the GOH for the con, even got Silverfox to sign my poster :D. :iconRika: was selling more Pokemon stuff as ever. Though she surprised me when I saw a giant Mew plush! If I had my lvl 100 pokemon from Red & Blue, I’d so fight her for that Mew pillow >:C

IT’S ON LIKE DONKEY KONG, RIKA!

So that was Thursday. Slow start and getting a lay of the land.

Friday was busy. I had to make sure I commissioned a few artists for the day, since they would’ve had it ready by Saturday. Sunday was my trip back, so commissions on Saturday were inconvenient.

You can all expect a few uploads later down the road.

Aside from commissions I got a chance to draw along side Syrae and Mortis Kull for while. Managed to goto a few panels as well, though 2 I really wanted to cancelled. Boo!

Though I was caught off guard a few times when I showed them a con badge of either Ms. Cotton in the P&SwG style by Syrae (you’ll see it posted soon). :icongunmouth: was really overwhelmed when he saw Crasher, a Gobot from the 80s, in the same style as a badge. I went ahead and commissioned him for one of her as well. So I’m excited to see what he comes up with <3.

I’ll be honest, I enjoy the furry for all it has from fan art to original works of art as well as the people. But one thing that stands out most for me is when I find people who grew up watching the Gobots like I did. I admit they did not get as much appreciation as the Transformers, but it’s still heart warming to find people who remember them.
Though like many conventions, we all remember the Elevator ride. I was lucky enough that I managed to avoid getting on one that jammed for about…25 – 40 mins or so? After that, whenever I was on a lift I had to put up the STOP hand. None of this “oh it’s going up, well I’m going down anyway.” Or “we can squeeze one more in.” I was NOT about to get stuck in a life. I was hailed by many as an Elevator gawd.

:C

I…AM…GAWD!

Then came Saturday, the last day before my flight home.

I had to make a quick stop into the game room and get back into an old game I haven’t played in years: Steel Battalion. A game that required a custom built mech controller. Good fucking times!

Then back to the con, with the same routine with elevators, just before going to hang out with friends and attending panels, as well as gathering commissions.

I’ll be honest; I never thought I would hang out with furry friends at a con before <3 .
Went with Syrae-universe and her crew to a sushi place, but not after we went off to see the Wizard of Oz for some Courage and squeaky boobs for Syrae. Always love the Tuna rolls <d that’s good food there.

Hopefully, come AC I can head to this sea food place for some Sword Fish steak. Now that was delicious.

So Sunday comes up and I have to wake up early. Fortunately early mornings are when furries are hung over or sleeping off the late night dance party. So Elevators were not a problem.

I was surprised when I found an I-Hop in the airport though. There’s my breakfast.

So we get on the plane and head back to Texas. There my Dad decides we should eat at a restaurant, Itallianos. Actual professional chef cooking at it’s finest. Stuff Mushrooms for an entre and a Rib eye steak for myself, smothered in mushroom gravy atop a bed of mash potatoes and grilled zucchini and squash. Delicious! Then the desert :B

You ever notice after a big meal at a restaurant you feel tired.
