Oh, you found me by Dawnchapel

I kind of figured I wouldn't do a formal announcement on FA about having an account here, I signed up a few months back and then promptly forgot to keep paying attention to Weasyl for a while since it didn't look like things were moving at all.

Nice to see another wave of folks signing up for the site, but I have to confess I'm still skeptical that it will ever pick up the necessary critical mass to knock FA off the top spot. I think any website that starts with the philosophy of "we must reproduce all of these same features" rather than "Let's look at user behavior and set the new standard" is going to flounder. Especially when they're taking decade-old feature cues from DA and FA, rather than replacing notifications with a more current dashboard-style feed, like Tumblr or Google+.

But I'm not a programmer, so there's only so much good my grousing can do. Oh well.

Oh, you found me

you could suggest this to the mods and the Weasyl team.

Thing is, features don't make a website succeed. Its userbase does.

Most people don't feel like updating two or more websites, so they stay with one. And that one tends to be the one where they get the most attention/followers.

With furry art, it's FA. With social networking, it's Facebook and not G+, with online journals it's LiveJournal and not dreamwidth (Before both stopped being relevant at least), etc.
